Delaney Hurley is currently on a gap year in Bulgaria funded through the US State Department's YES Abroad scholarship - which she can't recommend highly enough - during which she is working with Bulgaria's countrywide English speech & debate network, coaching the national debate team, and teaching in refugee camps. She's thrilled to be joining the Capitol Debate team this summer! During her extensive high school debate career, she debated in a variety of styles: American parliamentary, British parliamentary, policy, extemporaneous policy, and congressional. Hopefully this fall, she'll be able to put that background to work and make Harvard University's debate team, where she plans to study government and near eastern languages & civilizations. Until then, she'll enjoy teaching debate in her home state of Connecticut!
